74 Treasure of Sindal 1
The Sindal Orb and the Hurricane of Intrigues
PCs present: Lyra, Pika, Klaiton, Den, Daijiro, Yaang-ki.
NPCs present: King Oleb XVI, Princess Rao, Prince Harrick, Lady Hil, Scholar Voha, Thao Poloc, Lord Wrax.
Major Developments:
The group formally assumes their status as “Marquesses of Indus” in the court of Drinax, which attracts the attention of major political figures like Lady Hil, who tries to gain their favor in the succession dispute. King Oleb XVI explicitly confesses his long-term master plan: the goal of the piracy is not just loot, but to destabilize trade routes so that the Third Imperium is forced to accept the existence of a strong Kingdom of Drinax that acts as the only force capable of guaranteeing peace in the sector. Finally, the opening of the Sindalian orb reveals the existence of a secret base on the lethal planet Noricum, establishing the campaign’s next major objective.
Loose Ends:
What kind of treasures or military secrets does the lost base on Noricum really hide? Where are the other orbs sent to the Dukes of Dpres and Yggdrasil? Will Prince Harrick agree to become the messianic figure that the inhabitants of Clarke desire, or will he support Princess Rao? What are Lady Hil’s true plans, and how will she react to Den’s alliance with her enemy, Lord Wrax?
Session Joke:
The most humorous moment of the game was the Game Master’s unexpected proposal to resolve a dispute through a boxing match on the palace balcony… in the middle of a maximum-category hurricane and using gravity belts! Daijiro manages to knock out King Oleb XVI and throw him off the terrace into the abyss of the storm, only for the monarch to return floating moments later, covered in blood, laughing out loud, and congratulating him for the good hit before going off to keep drinking.
Scene 1: Return to the Court and New Titles
PCs present: Lyra, Pika, Klaiton, Den, Daijiro, Yaang-ki.
NPCs present:
- Thao Poloc (Eccentric, dressed in yellow and pink with a jingle bell hat - Archetype: Eccentric courtier/Jester).
- Professor Yual (Elderly, pedantic, obsessed with the history of Sindal - Archetype: Obsessive scholar).
Location(s) and/or Planet(s): Spaceport (Drinax)
Spaceships: Ginger (Unknown, Captain Lyra)
Scene Summary:
After reviewing the ship’s maintenance costs and reviewing their latest missions through Blue, Torpol, Clarke, and Cordan, the crew arrives at Drinax escorting the scholar Professor Yual, who brings with him an ancient Sindal orb. The spaceport is unusually crowded with allied fleets and merchants looking to strike it rich. Upon landing, they are effusively welcomed by the imperial consul Thao Poloc, who completely ignores the corsairs to hug the academic. While the team decides to leave Yaang-ki on the ship, Klaiton, Lyra, and Daijiro receive notifications on their communicators: Lady Hil requests the presence of the “Marquesses of Indus” for tea. Den, for his part, heads to the lower depths of the court to gather political intelligence.
Scene 2: The Tea of Stars and Spiders
PCs present: Lyra, Pika, Klaiton, Daijiro.
NPCs present:
- Lady Hil (Elegant, manipulative, surrounded by personal stellar holograms - Archetype: Court Machiavellian).
Location(s) and/or Planet(s): Private chambers in the Floating Palace (Drinax)
Spaceships: None mentioned.
Scene Summary:
The Marquesses of Indus (Lyra, Klaiton, and Daijiro) attend the exclusive invitation of Lady Hil in a room adorned with treasures, live music, and exorbitant luxuries. Behind the courtesy, Lady Hil offers them her patronage in exchange for taking a political position. She explains that Princess Rao (imperialist and calculating) is the sensible option to govern, while the resurrected Prince Harrick (idealist) could be dangerous if the religious fanatics of Asim and Clarke convince him to assume a messianic role. The corsairs remain diplomatic, avoiding an open commitment, although Lyra and Klaiton are subtly in favor of Rao. Despite their neutrality, the mere fact of having met with Lady Hil greatly elevates their social status in the palace.
Scene 3: Banquet, Business, and a Right Hook
PCs present: Lyra, Pika, Klaiton, Den, Daijiro.
NPCs present:
- King Oleb XVI (Portly, reckless, drunk - Archetype: Barbarian king).
- Prince Harrick (Serious, escorted by strange guards with fire extinguishers - Archetype: Reluctant noble).
- Scholar Voha (Academic politician - Archetype: Wise advisor).
Location(s) and/or Planet(s): Terraces of the Floating Palace (Drinax)
Spaceships: None mentioned.
Scene Summary:
King Oleb XVI organizes a grand banquet in honor of Professor Yual, even though a devastating hurricane is raging outside. During the party, Lyra takes the opportunity to try to forge business ties between merchants to supply Blue, while Klaiton is courted due to the interest in his knowledge of starfighters. Den approaches King Oleb to talk business; the monarch, quite drunk, reveals his true strategy: he needs the corsairs to continue pirating the Hierate and Third Imperium routes so that the great powers are forced to accept Drinax as the only State capable of pacifying the sector. On the other hand, Den discovers through his spy networks that Lord Wrax and Scholar Voha loathe Lady Hil, managing to arrange a future meeting with the Admiral. To close the evening, King Oleb proposes a boxing match with gravity harnesses in the middle of the hurricane. Daijiro accepts the challenge and, with a quick hook, throws the monarch over the balcony. Oleb returns floating, laughing, and bleeding, delighted with the fight.

Spaceships: Admiral Darokyn’s flagship (Mentioned as a historical vessel).
Scene Summary:
The next morning, a select group gathers in the Tower of the Scholars to decipher the orb. King Oleb enters his ducal codes into an ancient Sindalian machine, causing the orb to open and project a holographic message. The text reveals that, moments before the fall of the empire, the contents of the treasury were transferred to Admiral Peras’s fleet bound for a “refuge,” and that similar keys were sent to Albe, Dpres, Yggdrasil, and Drinax. Professor Yual deduces that the message was broadcast from an unregistered installation on Noricum, a desert, radioactive world plagued by viruses. The scholar is determined to go there to claim glory and write a book. The crew quickly manipulates the situation so that Yual hires them as his “escort” and transport, thereby ensuring their control of the expedition. Finally, Yaang-ki manages to hack the orb’s additional encrypted data, discovering that it hides an exact firing solution for a Sindal Empire particle cannon. With Noricum as the next destination, the session comes to an end.
