Session Summary: Looting on the Ice and Flight from Ergo

Main developments or campaign goals:
The group has successfully dismantled and looted the most valuable components of the crashed ship Gavilán (engines, power plant, sensors, computers, turret, etc.), securing loot valued at about 10 million credits that will greatly assist in financing the reconstruction of the Kingdom of Drinax or upgrading their own fleet. Additionally, they managed to decipher the landing instructions hidden in the song of Eihei the Wise so that the Ginger could land on the planet.

Loose ends:

• Six imperial tactical nuclear warheads have been left behind in a silo or hidden base on Ergo due to a lack of equipment and time to transport them.
• An unknown, fast ship (200 tons, Thrust 6) has taken off from Ergo and is pursuing them just as they attempt to leave the atmosphere. Who is piloting it and what are their intentions?
• The nature and exact origin of the hostile natives inhabiting the ravines of Ergo remain a mystery.
• They have a pending meeting with the pirate Miria on Keiteroa, for which they might be late.

Joke of the Session:
The best comedic moment of the session occurred when the players put maximum effort into crafting an incredibly dramatic and emotional speech to convince the robot Krrsh that its captain, Thao Poloc, had died tragically in the snow and had delegated the mission of taking the cargo to them. After the intense performance and a failed roll, the game master described how the robot simply drew its weapon and said coldly: “Just what a thief would say.”
(Honorable mention to the suggestion of gifting an atomic bomb to King Oleb as if it were an engagement ring).

Scene 1: The Diagnosis of the Gavilán and the Failed Negotiation

Scene summary:
Pika finishes analyzing the Gavilán and discovers that the ship is practically destroyed: the jump drive is junk, the power plant has radiation leaks, and the hull is half-buried in ice. They conclude that repairing it is a money pit and decide it is better to loot its valuable components. To avoid a conflict, Klaiton and Pika try to convince the guardian robot, Krrsh, that its former captain, Thao Poloc, died tragically in Cordán due to the cold and passed the mission of safeguarding the cargo to them. Despite the elaborate and emotional speech, Krrsh’s circuits detect the deception, it labels their words as those of thieves, and draws its weapon, initiating combat.

Scene 2: Blood and Lasers in the Cargo Hold

Scene summary:
A brutal shootout breaks out inside the ship. Krrsh fires at point-blank range at Daijiro, wounding him seriously in the chest, but the swordsman manages to get close and dismember the robot with his static sword, tearing it to pieces. However, a hidden security drone joins the fray, flying over the nuclear warheads and unleashing a rain of laser fire and stun shots. Den is seriously wounded and Daijiro is forced to use an aerosol grenade to create a reflective cloud to dissipate the lasers. Lyra tries to provide covering fire (almost accidentally shooting a nuclear warhead) and provides medical equipment. Finally, after exchanging multiple shots, Den and Pika manage to take down the drone. Once the area is secured, they heal Daijiro’s wounds and Pika collects Krrsh’s mechanical parts with the hope of reprogramming it in the future.

Scene 3: Ambush in the Ravine

NPCs present: Hostile natives (Young men, but hardened by the cold, with frostbite amputations, dressed in furs, armed with bows, spears, and rudimentary metal axes - Archetype: Savage Hunters/Extreme Survivors).

Scene summary:
Lyra, Den, and Pika undertake a hard journey back to base camp through the snowy ravines to try to communicate with their ship without being blocked by the valley’s radiation. In the middle of a blizzard, they are ambushed by four hostile natives. Two of them attack with bows from elevated positions, while another two charge melee against Den with spears and large axes. Despite receiving a heavy axe blow that dents his armor, Den draws his official pistol and takes down the two melee attackers with lethal shots. Lyra, seeking cover, manages to land a precise shot on the foot of one of the archers, making him fall down the rocks. The last native flees into the storm. After a quick search of the corpses, in which they only find dried meat, the group continues until they take refuge in the old base camp.

Scene 4: Blind Landing and Desperate Escape

Scene summary:
From the base camp, Lyra manages to establish precarious communication with Klaiton, who is waiting in orbit aboard the Ginger, and transmits the flight codes hidden in the song of Eihei the Wise. Guiding himself only by a compass and a barometer, Klaiton performs a risky atmospheric reentry maneuver, managing to land the Ginger in the valley with only a few scratches on the hull. During the next two weeks, the team works feverishly dismantling the power plant, engines, turret, and computers of the Gavilán, filling the 55 tons of cargo capacity of their ship, although they decide to leave the nuclear warheads behind to avoid risks and delays. With provisions at their limit and knowing their position has been betrayed, they take off at full power toward space. As soon as they leave the atmosphere, the sensors detect a fast 200-ton imperial ship that has taken off after them and is heading to intercept them at maximum speed.
